STEP

A wraparound ethos

STEP

Our overarching narrative at ROC Northwest Ltd is in line with the Department Of Education’s Quality Standards and Children’s Homes Regulations and takes the form of a therapeutic framework called STEP.

STEP offers a wraparound ethos that provides a three-stage process of a child’s journey within our care.

The journey is defined by Stabilising, Strengthening and Transition.

STEP stands for:

  • Sensory supportiveness

  • Total Inclusivity

  • Enabling

  • Positive Personal Progression

The essence of STEP is that through close attention to detail we are able to evidence the impact of our service on the lives of the children we care for.

For our staff this means that:

  • They all have clear roles and responsibilities and are able to clearly articulate these to internal stakeholders and external agencies.

  • They have a suite of documents that support the implementation of STEP and the accompanying outcome measurement tool at their disposal.

  • They are trained to understand how STEP should be demonstrated in their specific areas of work at ROC Northwest Ltd.
  • They have detailed evidence to map the journey our young people undertake to present to all interested parties.

Exceptional, individual quality environments that put young people at the centre of the programmes we operate.
