Mountwood Academy provides care for 15 young people aged between 8 and 19 years.

The home and living area is on two levels and features kitchen/dining areas, lounge/living areas, a disabled bathroom, garden and play areas, a lift and 15 spacious single en-suite bedrooms spread over two floors. The floors are separated to cater for young people with physical disabilities on the ground floor, while the more physically able will reside on the first floor. Each floor has its own activities during the evening and weekends to retain a 'home' environment with smaller groups. Of course the young people are able to socialise together between the floors as they make friends within the school, however we feel smaller groups will allow the young people to gain individuality and have increased fulfilment. The home is warm, comforting and inviting. All accommodation is deemed by Ofsted as outstanding.
